As hosts of the Standard Chartered Marathon Run 2018, our client IRONMAN (Asia) Pte Ltd had requested for a functional customised cap that could be used for the event. We made samples with different fabric colors at the initial stages to settle on one that is closest to the brand color.

What was proposed to them, was a five panel model as their design logo could occupy the whole of the front panel. However, the shape of the cap was more boxed than rounded which did not fit into our client’s expectations. The solution for the custom marathon caps was to use a 6 panel cap which posed new problems as it meant that the design logo would have to be splitted into half.

Here comes the most challenging part for our manufacturer. They were have to manually align the printing which was done on two separate fabrics. While at the same time stitching them together to form the arc of the front panels. Every piece of cap was carefully crafted with more time spent than expected . However our manufacturer did not disappoint us, the joint between 2 separate printing on cap were almost invisible. It was a job close to perfection.

Apart from the printing of logo, we also increased thickness in the front panels of the cap to sustain its shape. Woven labels were also customised with event logo and sponsors logo. And sent to our manufacturer to be sewn on separately. It is again another significant project that was well collaborated between 2 different manufacturers.
